"My tracking number says Accepted and doesn't appear to be moving"

"Accepted" means that USPS has scanned our shipment dropoff, but hasn't scanned your individual package yet. Rest assured, your package is in the system and moving.

Because of the pandemic and an increase in packages being sent this year, USPS has been overwhelmed. Unfortunately, that means that sometimes the US Postal Service skips scanning the individual packages. It's frustrating for you. We get it-- it's frustrating for us too.

Luckily, that doesn't mean that the package isn't moving through the system. Typically, the first update you'll see on the tracking number after "Accepted" is when the package arrives at your local sorting facility.

If you don't see any updates on your tracking number after 12 days, let us know and we can look into it. In this case, the package may be lost in transit and we can mail out a replacement at no charge.

"My tracking number says Pre-Shipment and doesn't appear to be moving"

This is less common, but still happens during busy shipping times (like the holidays). It's rare that a package gets lost in transit, so more than likely, your package is moving through the system. The first update you'll see is when the package lands at your local sorting facility.

If you don't see any updates on your tracking number after 12 days, let us know and we can look into it. In this case, the package may be lost in transit and we can mail out a replacement at no charge.

"My order is marked as In Transit, Arriving Late"

Unfortunately, it's typical to see this update on USPS tracking numbers during busy shipping periods (like the holidays). In most cases, the package is still moving in the system.

If you don't see any updates on your tracking number after 12 days, let us know and we can look into it. In this case, the package may be lost in transit and we can mail out a replacement at no charge.

    "My order never arrived."

If your order didn't end up arriving, be sure to let us know!

First, check your shipping confirmation and check that you had entered the correct address. If the address was incorrect, we'd be happy to send you another order to the correct address, however, it will have to be at your cost.

If the shipping address was correct, get in touch with us at howdy@howdyranger.com making sure you quote your order number. We'll see what can be done.

Why does USPS show my package as "Delivered" before it's even shipped?

The most likely reason is that USPS assigned a recycled tracking number to your shipment. If this happens, you may see tracking info saying "delivered" on a past date to a different delivery address.

To check if this is the case, click on your tracking number. If it's a recycled tracking number, you will see a different destination and delivery time when compared to your label details.

This happens because of the high volume of shipments sent through USPS. Tracking numbers get recycled on occasion.

The solution to this issue is to wait until USPS scans the label, then the tracking information will update shortly thereafter with the correct information.

To double check that your tracking number will be delivered to the correct address, you can call USPS at 800-275-8777. Once you hit the USPS phone number main menu, select "Tracking" then say "Representative". They'll ask you for the tracking number and the delivery address. They should be able to confirm that the package will be delivered to the correct address.

If the issue isn't a recycled tracking number, then it could be that USPS incorrectly scanned your package. If that's the case, let us know and we can look into it.

We appreciate your patience. This is a frustrating issue that's happening more often during this 2021 holiday shipping season.
