All 400+ U.S. National Park Service Sites Listed

List last updated on 9/29/26, at this time there are 433 individual sites

The most frequent question we get on our social media handles (Facebook and Instagram) is something like...

"Aren't there [pick a number] National Parks?"

The second most common question we get is...

"Isn't [fill in the blank with an NPS site] a National Park?"

To be fair, we forget sometimes too. There are a lot of NPS sites (and that's a good thing).

For that reason we decided to list all of the 400+ NPS sites by category. Since this list can grow with a brand new NPS site (keep 'em coming) or shift when an existing site gets a promotion (like New River Gorge did in late 2020), I'll do my best to double check the accuracy every so often.

And if you don't believe that this list is accurate, you can always head over to the ultimate source of truth -- the NPS site

Pro Tip: Use CTRL+F or COMMAND+F to search for a specific site on this post.

So without further ado, here are all the National Park Service sites by category. Starting with our favorite 63...

  • We’ve been to 39 as of 12/31/20. This year should include Great Sand Dunes, Gateway Arch, Congaree, and Shenandoah, plus a lot of national monuments.

You guys should have a poster of the 129 national monuments. I’d buy one.
